Olori Shore FAQs

Are the Shore towels sand-shedding?

Yes, on the batik side. That’s the side to lie on — sand brushes straight off it — while the plush terry reverse does the drying.

How large are they?

43 × 69 inches.

How do I keep the colours from fading?

We haven’t seen colour bleed. Fading is the thing to watch, and it comes from heat rather than use: washing warm or tumble drying warm will dull the batik. Wash cold and hang dry and the colour holds.

How should I wash them after a beach day?

Shake the sand out first, then machine wash cold on a gentle cycle and hang dry.

How are they printed?

By hand, using batik — a wax-resist dyeing process. Wax is applied to the cloth, the fabric is dyed, and the waxed areas resist the colour. Because every piece is done by hand, no two are exactly alike.
